AITA for refusing to change my weekend routine for my sister’s new boyfriend?

AITA for refusing to change my weekend routine for my sister’s new boyfriend?

I’m a 28-year-old woman, and every Saturday for the last seven years, I have a personal routine: I wake up early, go to a small café near my home, journal for an hour, and then spend the rest of the morning reading. This routine helped me stay focused during stressful periods of my life, especially when I changed jobs and moved to a new city.

Recently, my older sister started dating someone new. He seems polite, but I don’t know him well. The problem began when my sister asked me if I could stop going to my café on Saturdays because her boyfriend wanted to use my parking spot when they visit our parents, who live next door to me. I have a private parking space that comes with my apartment, and it’s something I pay for monthly.

I explained to her that I can’t give up my routine just because her boyfriend doesn’t want to look for public parking. Parking in our area is sometimes difficult, but it’s definitely not impossible. She insisted that “family should support each other,” and said that I was being selfish for prioritizing a “coffee habit” over making things easier for her boyfriend.

I told her kindly that this routine is important to me, and that it’s unfair to ask me to change my lifestyle for someone I barely know. I also reminded her that the parking spot is part of my lease and not something I can just hand over every week.

Since then, she has been distant and told some relatives that I “don’t respect her relationship.” A few family members think I should compromise “for the sake of peace,” while others believe my sister is overreacting.

Now I’m questioning myself.
AITA for refusing to change my weekend routine and not giving up my parking spot for my sister’s boyfriend?
